 BEFORE is a main operator’s console with multiple screens and hardwired operator’s for system line control. AFTER is the same main operator’s console with one Operator Interface Terminal & keyboard, with the minimum amount of hardwired operator’s for line auxiliary controls. Not pictured….to the right & left of the BEFORE console, were three additional consoles that were eliminated and their functionality incorporated into the AFTER console’s single Operator Interface Terminal. Distributed IO was located in control cabinets to automate previous manual functions. A single PLC with CPU was located in the bottom section of the AFTER console for control of the entire system,
previously controlled by four sectional CPU’s. |
